Greek Historical Periods   

The vocabulary "Greek Historical Periods" is developed by National Documentation Centre (EKT). It is hierarchical, bilingual and has been linked to Dpedia. It covers the whole of Greek history from 8,000 BC until today. It was created as a tool for cultural content documentation.

  • - Formation of communities (50 to 100 inhabitants in each one of them) - Turning from hunting, food gathering, and fishing to food production - Systemic exercise of agriculture and livestock breeding - Sharp tools made of animal bones and other objects (e.g. blades made of flint and obsidian) - Samples of artistic creations (e.g. clay figurines and jewelry) 
  • The first one of the four in total subperiods οf the Neolithic age. It is called Pre-ceramic or Aceramic period - a term which is due to the lack of baked ceramics from the few known places in the Hellenic period of the time. 
  • Η πρώτη από τις τέσσερις συνολικά υποπεριόδους στις οποίες διακρίνεται η Νεολιθική εποχή. Αυτή λαμβάνει την ονομασία Προκεραμεική ή Ακεραμεική - όρου που οφειλέται στην έλλειψη ψημένων κεραμικών από τις λιγοστές στον ελλαδικό χώρο γνωστές θέσεις της περιόδου.
