Greek Historical Periods   

The vocabulary "Greek Historical Periods" is developed by National Documentation Centre (EKT). It is hierarchical, bilingual and has been linked to Dpedia. It covers the whole of Greek history from 8,000 BC until today. It was created as a tool for cultural content documentation.

  • - Δεκεμβριανά (1944): Ο όρος Δεκεμβριανά αναφέρεται σε μία σειρά ένοπλων συγκρούσεων που έλαβαν χώρα στην Αθήνα το Δεκέμβριο 1944 - Ιανουάριο 1945, ανάμεσα στις δυνάμεις του ΕΑΜ-ΕΛΑΣ και τις Βρετανικές και Κυβερνητικές δυνάμεις - Στις 12 φεβρουαρίου 1945 υπογράφτηκε η ειρηνευτική συμφωνία της Βάρκιζας. Επρόκειτο για μια συμφωνία η οποία τερμάτιζε και θεσμικά τις πολιτικές και πολεμικές συγκρούσεις του Δεκεμβρίου του 1944 και αποσκοπούσε στη συμφιλίωση των αντίπαλων παρατάξεων στη χώρα. Ωστόσο, οι εκατέρωθεν παραβιάσεις των όρων της οδήγησαν σε νέα πολιτική πόλωση και τελικά στον εμφύλιο πόλεμο - Ο εμφύλιος πόλεμος έληξε με την οριστική ήττα του Δημοκρατικού Στρατού στα βουνά του Βίτσι και του Γράμμου, το καλοκαίρι του 1949 - Τα Δωδεκάνησα ενσωματώνονται στην Ελλάδα (1948) 
  • - December events (1944):The term December refers to a series of armed conflicts that took place in Athens in December 1944 - January 1945, between the forces of EAM-ELAS and the British and Government forces - On 12 February 1945 the Treaty of Varkiza was signed. It was an agreement that ended the political and military conflicts of December 1944. However, the violations of its terms have led to new political polarization and ultimately to the civil war - The civil war ended with the defeat of the Democratic Army in the mountains of Vitsi and Grammos in the summer of 1949 - incorporation of the Dodecanese within Greece (1948)
